Network science has emerged as a powerful tool for understanding complex systems - how are they structured, how is their function reflected in their organization, and why are they wired the way they are.
The main point of my talk is to illustrate what network science is and what it can do. To this end, I will give some examples of what we nowadays know about human social networks because of Big Data & network science. I will also attempt to draw parallels to network neuroscience - is the network organization of the human brain similar to that of the human society? Where should network neuroscience be heading?
